Current Study

Our first book is the "Lost Women of the Bible" by Carolyn Custis James. It can be purchased on Amazon for $6.99 Kindle; $7.00 new and $5.99 used.

Synopsis of book

You know the women of the Bible, but you don’t know them like this... It’s easy for Christian women - young and Old - to get lost between the opportunities and demands of the present and the biblical teachings of the past. They live in a confusing world, caught in the crossfire between church and culture. Although home and family still remain central, more women than ever, by choice or by necessity, are blending home, career, and ministry.

This should be fun, we will meet on the third Monday of the month with a potluck lunch at noon and have a lively discussion of the current chapter. You are invited to join us April 17th at noon in the fellowship hall. We will be studying the chapter Lost, pages 13 through 25. On page 25 make a note to read Psalm 13.

The Next Study

This bible study is the Horizons bible study put out every year by Presbyterians USA Presbyterian Women. It starts the second week of January, 2018 and will go for nine weeks until the end of March. We have met at North Ranch every year and some years have had it at the church also.

Current Bible Study

The bible study for 2018 will be Cloud of Witnesses, a Community of Christ in Hebrews, by Melissa Bane Sevier. This ever present great cloud of Witnesses (Hebrews 12:1) strengthens and encourages us as we run with Perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and of our faith

What We Do

• Each December our Christmas party is a time to create cookie and fruit trays for our shut in friends.
• In addition we make these goodies to show our gratitude to the people who serve the church.
• We each make three dozen cookies, have a cookie tasting party and then pack up between 20 and 30 trays to take out to our neighbors.
• It is as fun occasion and a time to remember each other.
• We have also chosen this time to decide what charities will receive our annual monetary Christ-mas gifts for our local missions.
• After making the trays we deliver them to the shut-ins.
• We also set up the calendar for the following year. This is given to Session for the approval of our dates.

Our ministry calling

• Creative Circle is a circle within the Presbyterian Women’s Organization. We are a group of ladies who enjoy each other’s fellowship.
• We love the Lord and love to work with our hands. We have people who quilt, embroider, crochet and knit.
• We have made purses and bags, scrap bags, and the wonderful Mod Pog plates.
• We are open to any ideas of what to make.
• Our main goal is the fellowship we have with one other.

What do we do:

• Our day begins with a devotion and Prayer: All are free to join in or listen as we join in prayer.
• Show and tell: The best thing in our lives is when someone else loves our project as much as we do. We love to see the latest thing you are working on. If it is something the group wants to do, we will ask you for the pattern or ask you to teach us how to make it.
• The Selected Project for the Day:
  Each week we decide what we want to do for the following week and that is the project that is worked on.
• All of our products are useful and will be made while we have fun and enjoy Christian fellowship.

Areas of Interest

Baby quilts:
We create baby quilts for sale. This money is used by the Presbyterian Women’s Organization for gifts to missions and work in the church and community. We try to keep a supply of beautiful quilts for sale at all times.

Charity:
We love having material donated to us. If we have more
than we need or have fabric that we do not use, we will
forward this material to some other group who can use it. One
of these groups has been the Granado Indians. They teach
quilting.

Church:
We often help make things for the church, such as curtains, communion covers, costumes, and banners.

What We Do

Barbara has several albums showing our history for many years. If you want to take a trip through memory lane see Barbara.

Our ministry calling

Each Spring, we invite women from the area churches to join us for lunch. These gatherings have proven very successful. Our congregation has so many talented people that it is fun to try to find new ways to use these talents to entertain our fellow Christian ladies. We average about 60 women at these salad luncheons. Our group will supply a meat dish and a bread to complete the menu. Salads are brought by our church women. This is a wonderful time for visiting and fellow-ship with other women in our community.

Four times a year Women’s fellowship schedules potlucks, for a fellowship time after church service.

What We Do

Two women from Women’s Fellowship organize the food and work with the deacons to set-up, serve and clean-up afterwards.

What We Do – Steps of the Process

• Most prayer requests are for the following reasons: health, accident, travel, death in family or personal problems.
• Whenever possible find out where the person is (ie: state, city, hospital )
• Keep the request as brief as possible relaying only the bare facts such as above. Phone requests should go to Delores Huckabone @ 928/685-5024.
• She will call the first person she can reach on the phone list following the rules mentioned above.
• She will then send the prayer request to everyone on the email list.
• If Delores is not available call the first person on the list. Then if you have email access, send the request to prayerchain1@live.com. Or call the church office 928/427-3421; talk to Nina or leave a message.
• Email prayer request can simply be sent to prayerchain1@live.com or to Nina at yarnellchurch@hughes.net

to deliver, to our sick, our prayers as tied in knots on the squares.

Who are we

Creative Circle Members

What We Do

Creative Circle makes the prayer squares. When someone is sick, we get together and pray and tie knots. If someone special or a child gets sick, we make up a care bear bag. It has a book, a bear, a card, and a toy if needed.

We help by supporting our local missions, Yarnell Meals on Wheels and/or the local food bank.

What We Do

The rummage sale is normally held on the first weekend in May, Friday and Saturday. All items are donated and are sold by offers from the buyers. We serve pie and coffee for our shoppers.

Monthly we send a card to each shut-in from our church.

What We Do

We make or purchase cards that we think our shut-ins would like. The cards are put on a table so each church member can sign them and then they are sent out.
